About
A little room
for noticing.
Small Field Notes is a quiet collection of observations and things to try. The subjects are ordinary on purpose.
A walk you have taken before. A page with plenty of space left on it. A question small enough to test before supper. Familiar things can hold more than we first give them time for.
Each note starts with one of those things and follows it for a little while. Some are short enough to carry in your head; others leave room for a few examples.
How to read
There is no required order. The notebook gathers everything in one place. If you would like somewhere to start, try a familiar walk or take the pocket checklist outside.
Keep what is useful. You can adapt a prompt, ignore a step, or leave a note unfinished. Attention does not need to become another task.
A small record is often more useful than a perfect plan.
